Bucky Bingo Fan Anne Turns 102 in Style
It’s party time for Anne Webster from Shipley on Tuesday 28 April – she’s celebrating her 102nd birthday with a special party at the Buckingham Bingo club in Bradford. Anne, who’s been playing bingo for as long as she can remember, has been a member of the Buckingham Bingo club on Bridge Street since it opened in 2002. To help celebrate her birthday, the club will be treating Anne to a chauffer driven limousine to and from the club, as well as free bingo, flowers and a cake in the shape of a bingo ticket. “I’ve always enjoyed playing bingo and have made many friends over the years,” says Anne. “When Buckingham Bingo offered to throw me a birthday party I was delighted that I would be able to celebrate and play my favourite game at the same time.” Anne attends Buckingham Bingo five afternoons a week and is extremely popular with staff and members alike. The avid bingo fan once treated herself to a holiday in Scotland on her winnings. She has four children, one of whom (Keith Webster) accompanies her to bingo, and has lost count of the number of grandchildren. Robert Cahill, manager of Buckingham Bingo in Bradford, says: “Anne is a great character and a true patron of the club so we wanted to do something special to mark her big day. “We sometimes crack open the bubbly on these occasions but Anne will be staying well clear as she has never drunk a drop of alcohol in her life.” Visit Bucky Bingo now.
