X Factor Goes Up In Flames

The American version of X Factor is not going well, it would appear. Now, we cannot decide if it’s just a string of bad luck for everyone involved, or if it’s just the fact that Fox is the most painful network that side of the Meridian.

Because the drama has really gone a little bit far south, if you ask me and it’s clearly not going to be ending soon. Because people are being fired left, right and centre and there’s just no way of knowing what’s going to happen next. First up to get the boot was host, Steve Jones. The former show host took to his Twitter account to confirm that he would not be returning to the hit show and wished everyone still remaining good luck. But we’re still not sure what happened there. Only know that earlier on this month, a Fox boss was noted commenting that hosting a show was a lot harder than it looked and everybody has come to value people like Ryan Seacrest, who make it look as easy as I really suspect that it is. However, reps from both sides say that the parting is completely amicable and apparently, this is just the beginning for Steve. Looks more like an ending to me. Who was fired next? Much to the entire world’s surprise, it was Paula Abdul. She was informed by Fox that she would no longer be needed for the series’ next instalment. The more I go on, the more Fox sounds like the kind of ass you wouldn’t date even if your life depended on it. But, apparently, Simon is wanting to take the show in a different direction. So it’s Simon and Fox who are the no-go for anything nice, ever. There isn’t really any other news about the dismissal, but we heard that’s it’s definitely going to be amicable. Which is sad, since the whole world seems to be affronted on Paula’s behalf. The more you talk about it, the more astonishing it becomes. Because if Simon wants to take the show in another direction, he could at least be a little more sensitive about it, don’t you think? Well, unless he behaves likes he does on TV, in which case, I’m not holding out much hope for it at all. So who was the last to get booted? Nobody, it would appear, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a departure. Singer Nicole Scherzinger took her leave, wanting to focus more on her music instead. The show took up a lot more time than the star expected and she has to focus on rehearsals for her upcoming European tour. And there you have it folks. What does this teach us, as lessons go? Well, for one thing, never accept a job as a judge for the X Factor because you never know, you could be fired before you even know what’s happened. Sometimes, being a judge is as difficult and as emotional as being a contestant. Simon Cowell, you’re just a grumpy old bear.
