X Factor Diana Vickers launches her solo career

X Factor fans may not have heard very much from former contestant Diana Vickers, but all that is set to change as she releases her debut single.

The song, called Once, is to be the 18-year-old's first attempt at emulating the success of other X Factor contestants like Alexandra Burke and JLS, who have both clinched the top spot in the charts.

Famous for her claw hand action while on the show, Diana seems to have kept up her other quirk of signing in bare feet as she is seen without footwear in her video.

The song is set to be followed up in May by her album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, which features a track that was co-written by Ellie Goulding.

Performers from the last series of the X Factor, including the winner Joe McElderry, are currently visiting sold-out arenas across the country, with Stacey Solomon recently being spotted making friends with her young fans outside the stadium in Glasgow.
