Twitter to be turned into a Reality TV Show

Big news for all you Twitter fans out there as according to reports, Twitter is to be turned into a reality TV show! Using Twitter, the contestants will follow clues of 140 characters to track down celebrities. Developers believe that Twitter is a compelling television show in its own right, and that the show will capture what is great best about Twitter. The site has teamed up with Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Reveille Productions to work on the project. Reveilles are the group of people behind The Office shown on NBC and Ugly Betty on ABC and Brillstein are behind The Sopranos on HBO.

The show will be unscripted and the trail to find the celebrities will be competitive, helping to expand Twitter’s audience. It is in fact celebrities that helped propel Twitter into the limelight, with several newspapers and magazines reporting their Twitters frequently.
So what is Twitter? For all you non followers out there, Twitter is a free social networking site, in the form of micro-blogging known as ‘tweets’. In a sense the website is like a watered down Facebook, users can type posts of up to 140 characters in length and they will be displayed on their profile page. They will also be delivered to your followers (users who have subscribed to your tweets) pages. For celebrities it is a chance to let their fans know what they’re up to and for Business owners to alert their customers as to what new offers are available for example.
