Theo Walcott's girlfriend turns down a Ferrari

While most girls would dream of being given a Ferrari for their 21st birthday, the same cannot be said for Melanie Slade, the girlfriend of Theo Walcott.

The Arsenal footballer splashed out £140,000 on one of the cars to celebrate her birthday, but Melanie believes it is "too flash" for her to use, the Sun has reported.

A physiotherapy student at London's St George's Hospital University, it is thought that she wants to fit in the other people on her course, preferring instead to drive her three-year-old VW Beetle.

But the vehicle has not gone to waste, as Theo has been spotted driving the silver supercar himself.

Hopefully, Melanie gets to spend more time with her boyfriend than her fellow WAG Cheryl Cole.

The X Factor judge recently admitted that she was set to spend Christmas morning alone as her husband Ashley had a training session with his club Chelsea before a Boxing Day match.
