Stephanie Pratt Blames Eating Disorder on "The Hills"
23 year old Stephanie Pratt from ‘The Hills’ has recently opened up about her struggle with bulimia in a recent interview. She told reporters that she developed the eating disorder after joining the popular television show. Stephanie recently spoke to the US magazine US Weekly and admitted that she did not enjoy watching herself on screen, feeling bad about her body. She remembered that she felt horrified and felt huge walking over to Lauren, otherwise known as Conrad.
It was 2007 when Stephanie joined ‘The Hills’ cast and her eating disorder developed shortly after. The star is the younger sister of Spencer Pratt and said that the show never put pressure on her to lose weight but she felt embarrassed working with the other skinny girls on the show. Luckily Stephanie is now recovering from her disorder and wishes to use her situation to help other girls.
Stephanie claimed that she started bingeing and purging on a 5,000 calorie-a-day diet. Stephanie also said that she was advised by co-star Audrina Partridge to wear a shirt over her bikini when filming in Hawaii. She also tells the US Weekly that she has battled plenty of demons including low self-esteem, drugs, bad body image and depression. Stephanie went onto say that she was her own worst enemy and never loved herself.
Stephanie now wishes the best for everyone else in her situation, expressing that every bad feeling and problem you go through will pass, but if you suffer from an eating disorder you need to get professional help.
