Spice Girls musical to hit the stage
Spice Girls fans can dust off their Union Jack dresses once more, as a musical featuring some of their biggest hits has been announced.Following on from the enormous success of Mamma Mia!, the writer Judy Craymer is set to turn the girls' songs, like Who Do You Think You Are and Say You'll Be There, into a stage show.
Set to be named Viva Forever after one of the group's number ones, it is apparently Geri Halliwell who had the idea for the show and had approached Judy to write it several times before she finally agreed.
But the show will not be a story about the girls. Instead, it will be similar to the record-breaking Abba musical, with a storyline that the songs fit into.
Already, thoughts must be turning to what the fivesome will wear for the opening night, although Victoria Beckham will probably opt for something a bit more glam than the tracksuit bottoms and trainers she was recently seen in.
