Shopping can help to reduce stress

Spending a day on the high street is a great way to beat stress, one expert has revealed.
While most women already love the feeling that you get from a day out looking for that perfect new outfit or bagging yourself a bargain, Professor Karen Pine from the University of Hertfordshire has stated that it does help to beat stress.
"In my own research, many women told me that shopping relieves symptoms of stress and depression; this suggests it is more than a hobby and serves to regulate emotions," she said.
Professor Pine added that for a lot of women, it offers the chance to catch up with friends as much as it is a day for looking at the latest fashions.
The comments were made after a survey by OnePoll found that the average woman will spend eight days of her life in the shops, which breaks down into 30 shopping trips just to find some new clothes and 15 for shoes each year.
