Rihanna wears hairnet to meet Alan Carr

Rihanna is well known for her revealing stage outfits, but the star appeared to be going for an altogether different look as she donned a hairnet for a recent TV appearance.

Talking to Alan Carr on his show Chatty Man, the Caribbean singer wore a brightly-coloured outfit and a pair of white ankle boots which showed off her long legs.

On her head she wore a black hairnet, prompting some people to even make comparisons with elderly TV characters like Nora Batty from Last of the Summer Wine and Hilda Ogden from Coronation Street.

But Rihanna showed that it was only her hair accessory that was old-fashioned, as she taught the programme's host how to perform dancehall moves from her native Barbados.

At least her appearance on the show was less dramatic than her recent birthday celebrations in South Korea, where the Umbrella singer was given a sword to cut her birthday cake.
