Right royal premiere for Alice in Wonderland

Stars of the new Alice in Wonderland headed down a special green carpet for the royal premiere for the film.

Clearly fans of the classic children's story, both Price Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles braved the rain to watch the new Tim Burton film.

The real-life royalty were joined by the film's two queens, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter, who play the roles of the White Queen and the Red Queen in the movie.

Vivienne Westwood was certainly the favourite fashion designer for the event, as not only did she arrive in one of her own creations, so did Helena and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Mad Hatter Johnny Depp also delighted the fans outside by appearing at the screening, with young actress Mia Wasikowska, who stars as Alice, showing off her new short haircut.

But the night was also full of surprises as Avril Lavigne, who performs the title song to the film, turned up with her ex-husband Deryck Whibley, promoting rumours that the couple may be thinking of getting back together.
