Purple dresses a key trend at the Golden Globes
Purple dresses look set to be a hot new trend for the summer after a whole host of A-list stars were spotted in gowns of the summery hue at the recent Golden Globes ceremony.
While its supposed to be about who wins the prizes at big awards bashes, everyone's attention is always glued to what the stars have to decided to wear.
But this year it came as a welcome surprise when many of the actresses in the running for gongs turned up wearing colourful gowns, instead of the normal uniform of play-it-safe black.
Dresses in all shades of lilac appeared to be the most sought-after style, with Britain's own Leona Lewis, who was nominated for her song I See You from the Avatar soundtrack, looked divine in a subtle lilac satin gown.
Meanwhile, best actress in a drama winner Sandra Bullock looked gorgeous in a frock of a deep lavender shade.
With gowns in pinks and nude colours also spotted, the dress choices were a welcome relief from the all-black ensembles sported by the likes of Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss at a recent fashion awards party.
