Peter Kay to host the Brits

Peter Kay has been announced as the presenter of this year's Brit Awards ceremony.

The Bolton funnyman will have to put on his Sunday best to host the star-studded bash, which will see performances from indie band Kasabian and former X Factor contestants JLS.

Fans of the comedian will be eager to see if he has created any new material especially for his turn as the presenter, following on from other stars like Davina McCall and Gavin and Stacey actors James Cordon and Mathew Horne.

Rapper Dizzee Rascal is due to team up with red-haired songstress Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine to perform a unique rendition of her hit You've Got the Love.

It could be a memorable night for Florence, who has picked up three nominations, with other female singers Pixie Lott, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga all equalling her tally of award nods.

The show will be broadcast live on ITV1 on February 16th and you will have to tune in to see how your favourite performers do on the night.
