Paris Hilton gets new job at petrol pumps

Paris Hilton swapped her designer shoes and pet Chihuahuas for baggy overalls and petrol pumps when she worked for a day at a petrol station.

But the heiress as not fallen on hard times, as it was all part of a joke for an American TV show.

Wearing black-rimmed glasses, Paris had to convince customers at the service station that she was not the wealthy celeb, in the show I Get That A Lot.

Getting her hands dirty at work will not be new to Paris, who did a variety of different jobs alongside Nicole Richie as part of the series The Simple Life, which shot the pair to fame.

Paris was not the only A-list star who swapped their red-carpet lifestyle for the new programme, with supermodel Heidi Klum working in a pizza restaurant and rapper Snoop Dogg taking on a new role as a car park attendant.

Other stars who are set to try their hand at something new include actor Gary Lucy and Boyzone singer Mikey Graham, who are getting their skates on for the new series of Dancing on Ice.
