Michelle Heaton has announced her engagement

Michelle Heaton has announced that she is to get married after her boyfriend popped the question.

Her partner Hugh Henley got down on one knee over the festive period to propose to the delighted star.

Clearly up-to-date with her technology, Michelle announced the good news through her Facebook page.

Shooting to fame with the pop band Liberty X, Michelle enjoyed chart success as a member of the five-piece with hits like Just A Little. Since splitting, her former band mate Jessica Taylor has wed England cricket star Kevin Pietersen.

She was previously married to Andy Scott-Lee, the brother of the former Steps singer and reality TV star Lisa Scott-Lee, but the pair went their separate ways last summer.

It looks as though 2010 could be a bumper year for celebrity weddings, with Russell Brand announcing that he has got engaged to pop singer Katy Perry while they were on holiday in India.
