Michael Jackson Dies

Sadly Michael Jackson, King of Pop died at 2.30pm in the UCLA Medical Centre. Jackson arrived at the hospital in a coma after falling into cardiac arrest. The singer was 50 years old and was due to perform at 50 sellout dates in the UK. According to Jackson’s brother Jermaine, the singer’s personal physician had tried to resuscitate him at his rented home in Holmby Hills. La Toya was pictured running and crying into the hospital after he was pronounced dead.
Swarms of paparazzi, fans and television journalists swarmed the UCLA Medical Centre’s parking lots just after Jackson arrived. News quickly spread around the Glastonbury site as festival goers were confused and shocked by the rumours. Tributes have already flooded in from a number of celebrities including Madonna, ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Michael Jackson began his career in the family group by the name of The Jackson 5. Together they released fantastic hits such as ‘I want You Back’, ‘ABC’ and ‘I’ll Be There.’ Jackson went on to earn a fortune during the 1980s and 1990s though sales of critical acclaimed albums such as Off the Wall, Bad, and Thriller. He was estimated to have earned nearly $500 million by 2003.
Jackson then faced financial problems during the accusations of child molestation that was publically followed by the media. He then became a virtual recluse dogged by controversy and money trouble. Still, Michael Jackson remains the King of Pop and his music will go down in history.
