Look "chic and elegant" with a bun in your hair this Christmas

Every year Christmas seems to arrive quicker and quicker.

Of course, 2009 has been no exception and with the festive season looming on the horizon, you may be keeping your eyes peeled for that perfect sparkly outfit.

As well as dressing to impress, you will undoubtedly want to get your hair and makeup looking great and to ensure you tick all the boxes when it comes to keeping up with the latest trends, a classic up-do is the way forward.

This is according to Cos Sakkas, international artistic director at Toni & Guy, who said that a bun "never fails to impress for a chic and elegant Christmas party look".

Don't picture a severe, scrapped back style though, as he says that the look should be "striking and structured, whilst retaining a soft and feminine edge".

It seems as though you will be in the company of a few stars if you do opt for a bun this Christmas, as Grazia magazine recently reported that the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane Kruger and Alexa Chung have all been spotted wearing their hair in similar styles.
