Lily Cole 'swaps the catwalk for an ice rink'

Lily Cole may be the picture of elegance and poise when she struts her stuff on the catwalk or poses in front of the cameras for magazine shoots.

But it would seem as though the 21-year-old model, famed for her unusual looks and eye-catching red hair, is not so sure footed on the ice.

Lily pulled on her skates and sailed around the frozen rink at Somerset House for the launch party of the wintery attraction, the Daily Mail reports.

However, things took a turn for the worst when the Cambridge University student lose her balance and knocked over a young girl.

Luckily, the little skater was fine and was soon back on her feet and enjoying the party.

It seems as thought Lily decided that some action was needed to steady herself as she then took the arms of two friends to carry on the fun, hopefully without any more accidents.

The ice rink at Somerset House is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and there are all kinds of special events and nights on over the festive period to get people in the mood for Christmas.
