Lily Allen gets a vintage makeover for fashion festival

Lily Allen has suddenly come over all ladylike, following a vintage fashion makeover by designer Wayne Hemingway.

Leaving her normal outrageous style behind, the 24-year-old singer was transformed into a real glamour puss in a gorgeous, flowing red dress and a fur stole to keep out the chilly air.

With her short hair elegantly waved and a splash of red lipstick, Lily looked more like an old-fashioned Hollywood movie star than the wild child of British pop music that we have all come to know.

Dolled up to promote the launch of a new fashion festival, run by Wayne, the Brit Award winner also took the time to speak about her plans to retire from the music industry and concentrate instead on a clothes shop she is opening with her half-sister.

But Lily is not the only lady in red recently, with Sarah Jessica Parker choosing to wear a vibrant dress designed by Victoria Beckham to attend an event at the White House.
