Kimberley Walsh to land X Factor role?

Cheryl Cole may soon be joined by a second member of Girls Aloud on the X Factor, following news that Kimberley Walsh is to pick up a presenting role.

According to the reports in the Daily Star newspaper, the performer is set to take over from Holly Willoughby in the new series of the Xtra Factor, which is broadcast on ITV2 after the main show.

If the Bradford-born star does land the role it will not be the first time that she has appeared on the series, as she previously helped Cheryl to judge which singers to take though to the live shows.

The pair have also worked together away from the band before, as both were involved in the charity climb up Mount Kilimanjaro for Sports Relief.

Meanwhile, Cheryl has been busy putting the final touches to some new solo tracks and has frequently been spotted jetting out to Los Angeles, where Nadine Coyle is also in the recording studio.
