Katy Perry: No more annoying songs
Fans of Katy Perry may be hearing a new sound from the star as she has vowed to move away from the upbeat pop hits that made her famous.
The fiance of Russell Brand has stated in the new issue of Nylon magazine that she needs to start producing more edgy music if she wants to compete with this year's biggest stars like Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
Describing her new music as being "a bit darker" to the publication, she went on to call some of her old hits, like Wake up in Vegas and chart-topper I Kissed A Girl, annoying and likened singing them over and over again to Chinese water torture.
Perhaps her change in musical direction could see her fill the gap which will be soon created by Lily Allen, as the singer has announced she is leaving the music industry behind to set up a clothes shop with her half-sister.
