Katy Perry and Russell Brand 'get engaged'

It seems that Russell Brand has finally met his match with pop singer Katy Perry.

The comedian, who is famous for his womanising ways, has proposed to the I Kissed a Girl singer just months after the pair got together.

Following speculation that Russell had popped the question, he reportedly sent a text to the Sun's showbiz editor to confirm that he and Katy are to tie the knot.

Currently on holiday in India, the couple had their relationship blessed by a 'love guru' at the foot of the Jaipur mountain before Russell got down on one knee.

They have now gone to Thailand to continue their celebrations following their India trip, which Katy said was her Christmas present from her future husband.

Before his holiday, Russell had been spotted in a jewellery shop, sparking rumours that he was hunting for an engagement ring.

Love seems to be very much in the air at the moment, as Robbie Williams has also asked his girlfriend of three years to marry him.
