Johnny Depp joins Shane McGowan for Haiti single

Johnny Depp has joined forces with singer Shane McGowan to produce a single to raise money for the people of Haiti.

The actor, who is a keen guitarist, will record his part in the cover of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins song 'I've Put a Spell on You'.

Former The Pogues front man Shane has already recorded his vocals for the song, which also features Paloma Faith and The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde.

Haiti was left devastated last month after it was struck by an earthquake, with Simon Cowell pledging soon after to rally together some of the UK's biggest stars to record a charity song.

His single, a cover of the REM track Everybody Hurts, is set for release on February 7th and features singers like Cheryl Cole and Take That.

As well as being available through music shops, stores like Marks and Spencer and BHS have also pledged to stock the song so as many people as possible have the chance to buy it and raise cash.
