Jim Carrey becomes a granddad

Jim Carrey looks set to take on his most difficult role yet after becoming a grandfather for the first time.

The Hollywood star's 22-year-old daughter Jane gave birth to a little boy named Jackson Riley Santana, making the star of The Mask a granddad aged just 47.

He is the first child for the funny man's daughter, who is the lead singer in the Jane Carrey Band, but only time will tell if the child dubbed Jack will grow up to inherit his granddad's comedy talents.

Jane married her husband Alex Santana, who is known as Nitro in the rock band Blood Money, last November.

At a recent event to promote his new film I Love You Philip Morris, Jim shared a kiss with his co-star Ewan McGregor, who plays his cellmate in a film about a convicted fraudster.

The pair were in Paris to pick up the prestigious National Order of Arts and Letters from the French government.
