Ice cream shades 'huge for nails' this spring

Nails painted in tasty ice cream shades are set to be a key trend for this spring, according to one style expert.

Heather Steele, head of marketing and product development with cosmetics brand nails inc, said that nails painted in the shades of the delicious dessert are going to be a key look this year.

In tones slightly brighter than pastel shades, the colours will translate well onto nails, the fashionista said.

"We've got some really gorgeous pistachio green type colours, muted lilacs and a gorgeous light blue coming out in the spring as well," Ms Steele added.

Pretty hues seem to be popular with designers for this spring, following on from the dramatic gothic looks that have been seen over the winter. Issa and Paul Smith both sent their models down the runways at the spring/summer shows wearing sweet-coloured makeup.

Style icon Victoria Beckham is once again striding ahead of the rest of the fashion pack after she was recently spotted wearing a light blue colour on her nails.
