How to get the perfect pout this Christmas

Benefit make-up artist Tasmeta Mistry has shared her advice on how to make sure your lips look kissable under the mistletoe all winter long.

First of all, creating a base for the colour is essential, so apply a layer of concealer across the lips.

Next, power is needed to make to make the lips matte. After this step, pick up lip liner and work it from the top outwards, before repeating on the bottom lips.

Tasmeta gives her own bit of industry know-how by advising that people put a little bit of lip liner in the middle of lips too.

Once this lip liner is in place, colour in the lips with a light-coloured pencil as this will help the gloss to stay on longer.

Finally comes the lip gloss itself. Apply one coat, and then blot it with a tissue. Add a second coat and you have divine looking lips that would make even Angelina Jolie jealous.

Getting make-up perfect is a serious business, as a recent survey carried out for the Clothes Show Live found. Women said that, on average, they spend six hours getting their war paint looking fabulous before their Christmas do.
