Heels "are huge" this winter
Heels are due to be a big fashion trend this winter, an expert has said.
Lisa Smosarski, editor at weekly magazine Stylist, explained that a wide range of different heels have made their presence felt on the catwalks, in designer stores and on the high street.
"This winter, heels are huge. We're seeing a lot of pencil thin heels, stacked soles, the return of the court and a huge return to embellishment," she explained.
When it comes to Christmas parties, the stylist said that a lot of stiletto ankle boots are now starting to make an appearance as ladies go for the glam look.
However, she concluded by noting that thigh-high boots are "the big trend" for this season.
Ms Smosarski said that while only the "bravest" people may have the confidence to wear them and pull them off, those who manage to do it will look "great".
She made her comments after Debenhams published a study which showed that 73 per cent of women between the age of 16 and 40 have walked home with no shoes on after a big night out in heels.
