Forbes Top 100 Powerful Celebrities
For all you celebrity followers out there ‘The Forbes World’s Most Powerful Celebrities’ list is out now! The measure of this top 100 list comes from power depicted from money and fame. Web hits, television/radio mentions and magazine cover appearances also are taken into account.
It seems like Oprah Winfrey has been knocked off of the top sport with the beautiful Angelina Jolie taking her place. Miss Jolie managed to earn a massive $27 million in the past year due to her hectic schedule of Wanted, Kung Fu Panda and the spy thriller Salt which is yet to be released. Her place as the most powerful celebrity may also be linked to the publicity surrounding the actress as she gave birth to twins, her philanthropic efforts and her relationship with fellow actor Brad Pitt (No. 9 on the list.)
Oprah Winfrey, presenter of her daily chat show has managed to make $275 million this year which makes her the top earner of the list of celebrities. Winfrey also has a monthly magazine and a three-year $55 million deal with XM Satellite Radio. The rest of the top five in the list are Madonna, Beyonce Knowles and Tiger Woods.
President Barack Obama joins the list at No. 49 and his book earnings are at $2.5 million for the year. J.K. Rowling and Johnny Depp both fell off the list from last year. Rowling’s disappearance is attributed to the lack of a new Harry Potter book and Depp failed to release or collect an instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean.
