Fans go crazy for Robert Pattinson at premiere

Hoards of excited screaming girls descended on London to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson at the premiere of his new film.

The star of Twilight has left his vampire teeth at home for his new role in Remember Me, where he stars alongside Australian actress Emilie De Ravin.

But even though they did not have a ticket to see the film, hundreds of his female fans arrived at Leicester Square, carrying cameras and magazines for the star to sign.

Although he has admitted in the past that he is not completely comfortable with the hysteria that follows him around, R-Patz looked happy to meet with his fans, with some of them even in fancy dress to celebrate St Patrick's Day.

Absent from the screening was his Twilight co-star and girlfriend Kristen Stewart, who was in New York to promote the opening of her own new film The Runaways, in which she plays rock star Joan Jett.
