Coronation Street to be demolished
This is a storyline that the characters on Corrie surely would not see coming - the street is set to be demolished and rebuilt at a new location. But soap-lovers need not fear as the show will remain on our televisions, as a new set is being built in the heart of Manchester.
To help celebrate 50 years on our screens, the programme's producers have decided it is time to give the current set a bit of a makeover to keep it looking good on new, high-definition TVs.
Hopefully Corrie's famous cobbled streets will see many more dramatic storylines, with events like the death of Mike Baldwin in the arms of Ken Barlow and the murder of Liam Connor by Tony Gordon helping the show to hold its place as one of the best-loved soaps in the country.
Corrie fans are currently gripped to their screens after Sally Webster admitted to her family that she is suffering from breast cancer.
