Christina Applegate announces secret engagement

Christina Applegate has announced she is engaged to her boyfriend - and has been since Valentine's Day.

The actress, who starred in Married... With Children and comedy film Anchorman, has finally admitted that her boyfriend Martyn Lenoble got down on one knee on February 14th, but no date has yet been set for the wedding.

Even her friends have admitted that they were surprised by the news as the couple had kept it such a close secret, with fellow star Alyssa Milano telling Us Magazine that she had no idea but is thrilled for the happy couple.

The news will surely be welcomed by Christina's friends and family, as the 38-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery before making a full recovery.

Another star who may soon be announcing plans to wed is Amy Winehouse, who was recently photographed on a night out with her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil and was apparently asking to be called by her married name.
