Chris Hollins waltzes to Strictly win

Chris Hollins has been crowned this year's Strictly Come Dancing champion, beating Ricky Whittle into second place.

With his dance partner Ola Jordan, the BBC presenter shimmied his way through the final freestyle dance, which saw him leaping with excitement onto the judge's table.

The pair also picked up their first 50-point score of the series after performing a Charleston.

Receiving the famous glitter ball trophy, Chris thanked his pretty partner, saying: "I've got say Ola-chops - thank so much for believing in me all the way along."

Athlete Jade Johnson also took to the floor to perform the Tango, after she missed her turn to perform the Latin dance as she suffered an injury while training which forced her to leave the contest.

But, the night's stunning performances were not just limited to the contestants' footwork on the dance floor. Judge and former Strictly winner Alesha Dixon teamed up with host Bruce Forsyth to perform a duet of the Frank Sinatra classic Something's Gotta Give.
