Britain's Got Talent Final
Were you among the 19.2 million viewers to tune into Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday? If you didn’t you definitely missed a fantastic finale! The final three acts of the competition were Diversity, a ten man group dance act, Susan Boyle the Scottish singing sensation and Julian Smith a saxophonist.
Susan Boyle was a huge favourite to win ever since her first performance of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ taken from the musical Les Misérables. Aged 48 and from Scotland, her performance astounded the judges and she became a massive YouTube star within five days with her collected recordings generating more than 100 million views. Susan went on to experience worldwide media coverage, becoming a cultural icon is a short space of time.
But Susan Boyle did not win the talent competition to everyone’s surprise and dance troupe Diversity are to perform at the Royal Variety Show in December in front of the Queen. The group will also win £100,000 to share between the ten of them! Boyle praised Diversity for their performance, remaining charming in defeat. The choreographer Ashley Banjo had coordinated a slick and inventive routine which impressed the judges and clearly the viewers!
Sadly, Susan Boyle has recently been admitted to The Priory Clinic in London with exhaustion, casting a shadow over the competition. Piers Morgan has commented on the amount of pressure that the media and the competition may have had on her, resulting in her ‘emotional breakdown’. Piers also mentioned that her admission to the Priory was entirely voluntary. Well here’s hoping that Su-Bo gets better and congratulations to Diversity!
