Bingo player celebrates 100th birthday
A bingo fan has celebrated her 100th birthday, putting her long life down to enjoying the odd tipple before bedtime. Edith Jopson was born in Salford in 1910 and lived there until 1930, when she moved to Stretford with her husband Thomas Jopson, the Messenger has reported.
Working in a leather workshop, as a cook's assistant and making army clothing during the war, Mrs Jopson is also the mother of three children.
She has certainly kept herself busy over the last century, as not only is she a fan of bingo, she has also been a member of Victoria Park Bowling Club in Stretford for more than 50 years.
Angela, one of Mrs Jopson's four granddaughters, told the news provider: "If you were to ask her the secret to her longevity, the answer would be to have just one tipple before you go to bed at night time."
If she is a fan of online bingo, maybe she would like to win herself an extra special birthday gift with Crown Bingo, which is offering the prize of an iPod to players of the Music Box game.
