Big Brother Contestants Revealed

The twist this year is that not all of the 16 contestants who entered the house last night will become housemates. Instead they face a number of tasks and have to earn the right to become full housemates and then go on to win that £100,000 prize.

The housemates are as follows, • Beinazir Lasharie is 28 and a support assistant from London. She is named after Benazir Bhutto.

• Sophie Read aged 20 is a glamour model from Cheshire. She has appeared in the UK Playboy magazine and in several motorbike shows but has never told her parents.

• Lisa Wallace is 41, unemployed and from Birmingham. She came out to a teacher after being teased about being a lesbian.

• Markis Akin is 35 and a window fitter from London. He gets offended when people dislike his hair.

• Charlie Drummond is a customer advisor from Newcastle. He won the Newcastle heat of Mr Gay UK.

• Karly Ashworth is 21 and unemployed from Fife. She is passionate about women’s rights.

• Saffia Corden is 27 and a beauty consultant from Nottingham. She is a mother of two and single.

• Sree Dasari is 25 and is a Student Union elected President from India. He came to England to Study a masters degree in business.

• Rodrigo Lopes is 23 and a student from Brazil. He is half Italian, half Brazilian. • Cairon Austin-Hill is 18 and a student from Florida. He now studies performing arts in London.

• Noirin Kelly is 25 and a retail manager from Dublin. She is a practising Catholic.

• Freddie George Fisher is 23 and an entrepreneur from Market Drayton.

• Sophia Brown is 26 and a private banking assistant from London. She stands at 4 foot 11 inches and suffered from Lupus as a child.

• Siavash Sabbaghpour is 23 and an events organiser. He grew up in Iran and moved to the UK as a child.

• Angel McKenzie is 35 and a pro-boxer and artist from London. She is originally from Russia.

• Kris Donnelly is a visual merchandiser from Surrey. He used to live and work in New Zealand and Ibiza.
